Monday Mar 23, 2020
Monday Mar 23, 2020
Explore the intersection of wealth, happiness and purpose with Dave Andrews, CEO and Founder of Capital Partners Private Wealth Advisers.
Dave talks through how he built Capital Partners upon clear fiduciary principles with a key focus on the juncture between the whole of the clients life and finances rather than a singular narrow and immediate financial focus.
Dave draws on the 1000s of conversations he’s had with clients to put forward how financial planning is much deeper than merely a money focus but being very clear about your purpose and how want to live your life in a meaningful and fulfilling way and that this only comes about by being clear on your individual values.
Without this clarity we quickly fall prone to reacting and comparing ourselves to the outside world, which leads only to discontentment.
David is a wonderfully grounded and deep-thinking man who is able to share his huge wealth of knowledge and reflections in an engaging and articulate manner.
For the listener there is the valuable opportunity to tap into some very solid and deep wisdom and truths that goes far beyond money and financial planning.

#137 Michelle Reid – Learning from Cultural Transition
Monday Mar 16, 2020
Monday Mar 16, 2020
Follow a fascinating story of cultural transition as well as deeper insight into the world of clinical and neuro psychology with Michelle Reid
Michelle grew up in Papua New Guinea with only black boys as friends, learning how to fight to make her way in the world, until she was shipped off to an all-girls white boarding high school in Queensland, which made for an abrupt transition.
Wanting to make further sense of the world, Michelle studied behavioural science at university which has led her where she is now being both a clinical and neuro psychologist.
She talks about how focusing on attachment styles and thinking patterns is central to her approach and how treatment follows 3 levels – developing coping skills, going into a trauma and future templating.
It is super rare to meet someone with such a unique background and listen to how that transition became the basis of her vocation today.

#136 Quintin Tufoua – SWAG: Someone With A Goal
Monday Mar 09, 2020
Monday Mar 09, 2020
Meet and enjoy the drive behind Perth’s S.W.A.G. podcast, with founder and host Quintin Tufoua.
Through his SWAG podcast, Quintin interviews some of Perth’s resident millionaires in order to connect aspiring entrepreneurs with the knowledge and wisdom of successful local business people. He himself has set the goal of generating $50m in 10 years.
Quintin candidly shares how his relationship with money has developed and how the podcast has played a key role in his journey to turn things around from being, by his own words, ‘an over controlling dickhead’ to the man he is now – comfortable in his own skin in among others.
Quintin goes deep on the lessons he’s learnt from the millionaires he’s interviewed and how, despite common perceptions about anyone who has generated a wealth of money, underneath they are still people with similar issues and concerns. He puts forward how one of his major learning points is that the focus isn’t solely on the money but balancing that with health, family, faith and fulfilment.
As I often find when talking with people who are open and proud of their faith, Quintin is a wonderfully strong and passionate man who is very clear about his priorities in life and his pursuit of them – which is so refreshing to be around.
For the listener, in addition to the wealth of insights Quintin shares, you will be given a great example of just where taking imperfect action can and will take you.

#135 Paul Ford – Gongs and Sound Therapy
Monday Mar 02, 2020
Monday Mar 02, 2020
Journey into the visceral world of gongs and sound therapy with Paul Ford of Gongwalkabout.
Paul, also a counsellor and psychotherapist, shares the story behind how gongs came into his life and how he began to offer sound healing to the world. He explains the fascinating process of how gongs are made and how from the outset they are designed and crafted to create and evoke a response in people.
Paul explains how the power of gongs, and their sound, lies in their ability to stop people and almost force them to be present in themselves and to be aware of what’s going on inside in that moment.
Paul is a deeply thoughtful and gentle man and I was very flattered he shared his wealth of experience with me in this conversation.
For the listener, you won’t just learn about this truly mystical instrument, you will also be challenged to open up to the perceptive of sound as a healing tool as well as be invited to become curious about de-layering yourself to reveal your real authentic self.

Step into the life of marathon swimmer and founder of the Port to Pub open water swim event, Ceinwen Roberts.
Ceinwen talks about how swimming was a key part of family life growing up and how, in her first Rottnest channel crossing, she found the spark and challenge that would lead her to becoming only 1 of 83 people worldwide to have swum the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming. She also talks through her upcoming challenge to swim a 4-way crossing of the Rottnest Channel in March/April of this year that will see her swim for over 24 hours.
We then go into the story of behind the beginnings of the Port to Pub event that crosses the Rottnest Channel and the scale of involvement to manage such and event.
Ceinwen is a very grounded lady that gives off a magnetic 100% authentic energy - she is very clear that despite her achievements, she doesn’t she herself as anything special, just someone who is willing to open up to possibility and explore just what she is capable of doing. She talks openly about the challenges of balancing her full life that includes a family of two little girls and how swimming, and the ocean, is also a key tool for her to maintain solid mental health and stability among it all.
For the listener, you will be given a very clear example of the scale of what can be achieved if you actively choose positivity and gratitude as the basis to approach everything that life presents.
