Be gripped by the passion of Leon Ruri and his journey focusing on raising awareness of men’s mind health and suicide awareness. Starting with an idea that mobilised 200 men to perform the Haka on ANZAC day at Kings Pak in 2017, Leon has since founded the Charity Haka for Life to raise awareness for Men's Mind Health, Wellbeing and Suicide Awareness.
As well as sharing the story behind Haka for Life, Leon talks openly about his own journey with mental health, being stuck in his head and contemplation of suicide. He also explains how, through our upbringing, we get conditioned into remaining silent and not expressing ourselves and how this leads us through the gateway to depression and anxiety and even suicide.
